We invite you to join us at BioHack London: an AI-in-Bio hackathon that will bring together 80+ computer scientists and biologists to build AI/ML tools that can accelerate research in the life sciences. Intended to facilitate collaboration between computer scientists and biologists, BioHack will feature speakers & mentors who are creating impact using AI in biology as well as datasets and other tools to help teams develop and build their ideas. We encourage the use of software and generative AI to create computational tools that will make the research/discovery process simpler and easier. You don't need an idea or to be an expert in AI or biology, being interested in either (or both) is enough! See our FAQs for more info.
Apply at the following link: https://forms.gle/GXCEyAdo7JPYWZtP9. Registration is free!
The application deadline is 20th May 2023.
We will contact successful applicants with further information by 22nd May. Apply early for a better chance of taking part!
If you’re confirmed as an attendee, you will be added to a Discord channel. The Discord channel will be used as a platform for team formation. We expect everyone to be in a team by the day of the hackathon. Participants will be able to able to post their backgrounds and pitch their ideas. Datasets will also be provided to help with ideation. Teams can then form around the pitched ideas and you can organise calls/meetings with your team to introduce yourselves and think about what you’ll build on the day.
On the 10th June, we will all meet at 9am in London and begin a day of talks, networking and most importantly, building! We will have expert mentors present to guide you through building AI tools for Biology as well as datasets and credits to help you further.
We have an exciting panel of experts who are developing and/or using amazing AI-based tools for life sciences applications that will be announced in the lead up to the hackathon!
